1 Vote Intense Responsibility

Many people would agree that they would not want to be the President of the United States of America. Even people of extraordinary leadership deny the task through rationalizing, joking, and the like. However, you are the president, and as many should know: you have quite a few issues on your conscience. I know quite a few of these issues, and I'm sure there are issues you have that I have no information about. So how do you deal with this intense responsibility?
I'm not writing to tell you what to do; I'm a college student, with a definite lack of experience in political science. I just want to make one suggestion that I feel will benefit you as it has benefit me. I am a freshman in a college I could only dream of getting accepted into. I have opportunities open to me that 90% of the world will not see the slightest resemblance of. My future lies out before me, and it's up to me to do what I want.
There is some intense responsibility in my life. I have constantly raised the bar on my mental, physical, and spiritual life in the past few months. I want to relate this to your presidency. You must feel as if the weight of the world rests on your shoulders. Although you have a plethora of resources available to you, you are responsible for America in the eyes of the people of the world. That is intense responsibility
Since this is the case, let me make a few suggestions: First of all, forget about the people. It is more than true that you are responsible for many people, but you can't do this presidency trying to please everyone. America needs a confident leader, not a Yes-man. Second, and most importantly: have fun. Enjoy your presidency. I'm not suggesting you take advantage of American tax dollars for your own personal interests, I'm suggesting that you rise above the pressure. If you are the true leader this country needs, you will lead us to where we need to be. However, you can't do that being a yes-man, and you can't do that feeling pressured.
You must rise above Mr. President. Follow your God-given abilities, lead America into a better future, and feel good about it while you do it. Americans will appreciate a president who enjoys presidential responsibility more than they know (they have yet to have one). If you can lead with confidence, and enjoy the work you do, your presidency will be more than successful.

Thank you for your time,
I've really enjoyed talking with you,

Mattsen Heller

PS – In case you are curious; I am looking into a career as Optimus Prime. I want to fight hunger and lack of health care in the US and Internationally for the rest of my life. I guess I've got some intense responsibility too.

Congradulations!

I am a struggling father of two boys and a beautiful wife. My wife is so ill with kidney troubles she cannot work. My 2 year old son Jaxin is the greatest son in the world. And my newborn Kingston is still in the NICU at the local hospital and isn't out of the woods just yet. Even though times are tough, I still believe that we live in the Greatest Country on Earth.

We have given you our Country. You lead and my family will follow. Now what shall we do…

Very Truly,
Wilhelmus VanderKallen

1 Vote About the prison's

Dear MR.President,
I would like to reccomend that people on parole who have spent longer on parole than man has been on earth a pardon, instead of the usual.I've been on parole since 2003 and returned a total of 8 times for missing an appointment due to no transportation. Its really out of control as far as the prison system in California. Please i'm a small person but my voice is for all the strong that endure each and every extra day away from their family's.I myself am one of those people.

4 Vote My Letter To The Next President

Mr President,

Congratulations on your recent appointment. There are many questions streaming through my mind that I would love to ask you. Instead I will limit the focus of this letter toward where this country is headed, why I think your administration should do its best to turn this around and, with your permission, my recommendations on how to accomplish this.

Social Policy:
Currently our country is in bad shape - few will deny this. Of course we all disagree about what the worst things are that are going on right now. I feel one thing that is tearing our country apart is liberty we have all, as US citizens, had to sacrifice throughout the Bush administration. I'm not sure when it became "alright" to punish Matt for the wrongdoings of John. I'm also not sure who decided that we were now a nation that decided a person was guilty until proven innocent.

You, and only you, have the power to reverse this abuse of power that has become just another day at the office for the finger-pointers who sit on a hill and pass judgement on the very people that voted them into office. You, sir, can change it all. Give power back to the people. Let them make mistakes. The Bill of Rights gives us the right to do what we want as long as we do not impede upon the rights of others.

Restrictions and taxes on small businesses make it nearly impossible to get started. Lifting these restrictions will allow for more competition in the market place and only those with quality products will be able to turn a buck, those who fall behind in safety and quality will find themselves without a customer base. Competition will cause innovations and technology to skyrocket bringing prices down and the market up.

Fiscal Policy:
Another very important issue that is plaguing this great nation is our fiscal policy. Any economist worth his salt will tell you that debt is bad. You can't allow those in Washington to keep printing money! Every dollar printed cuts the value of the dollar I worked all week to bring home to provide for my family. Giving money to other "under-privilaged" nations, while done for "the right reason," is not what OUR country needs right now. The value of the dollar is plummeting and what does Congress do? They take more of my money to give to lenders that wrote bad loans to people that were unable to pay them back.

Instead a more sound way to help the people would be through tax cuts - REAL tax cuts. Taxes can be and should be cut to the bear minimum. This can be done simply by shutting down the very government agencies that take our liberty from us. Most of these very agencies handle matters for the entire nation that would be more effectively handled at a state (or even local) level.

Socialism isn't what this country needs - not now, not ever! Socializing medical care (amongst others) will work out the same way socializing retirement benefits and welfare have worked — horribly. Nothing about these systems make sense, especially the math. If you really want to help people through charity let their neighbors and their churches take care of them. This can only be done if you let people do it by not taking money from them to do it in their place. If you want to help them retire offer a plan that citizens can choose to opt in to and out of.

Foreign Policy:
The war in Iraq must end. We have completed every task that your predecessor gave for keeping the troops there! We eliminated the threat of WMDs, we removed a tyrannical dictator from his position of power, we helped the Iraqi people create a democratic government and we trained the Iraqi troops to defend it.

Why are we still there? Oil? The only reason the price of oil finally quit climbing since before the war started was because of the financial "crisis." We are not saving face by being there - Bring the troops home or send them to hunt real terrorists.

If our country is to continue being oil-dependant please allow us to produce it here. With the oil in Alaska and the off-shore oil we could tap, we could put a huge dent in our dependance of foreign oil. The environment will survive!

Education:
Our educational system is a joke. Our children are falling behind and the very people that claim to care (the US Department of Education) are too far away to see the problem first-hand. Every state, every city for that matter, has it's own educational problems - let them figure out how to deal with their own issues. Placing every child in a box labeled "US Child" and making a decision on what is best for "US Child" does not always work for (or apply to) little Timmy down the street.

US Constitution:
The US Constitution was written as a guide for the future leaders of America. It should not be disregarded as out-dated. Our forefathers knew a very important fact - they knew that they didn't know everything. They make allowances for the Constitution to be amended so that as times changed it could stay a viable guide for future generations to live by.

The Bill of Rights was not meant to be changed or interpreted differently on a case-by-case basis. The first ten amendments to the Constitution were meant to apply to every US citizen without question. We need to get back to our roots and let people live again. Let them breath, eat, smoke, watch, say, shoot, and even drink what/how they want.

Summation:
Mr President, I hope my thoughts have given you something to consider over the course of the next eight years (four if not). We need leadership! The most effective leaders lead by example. Take control and then give to those that deserve it - the people. Let us live our lives the way we want to - wether it is "good for us" or not. Write laws to protect us from each other, not from ourselves. Use the military to protect our land not the oil we will purchase from a foreign country. We need to pay our debts, cut taxes, and, heaven forbid, put a little money back for a rainy day. Our government is too big and costs too much to run. It is in our lives from beginning to end and tells us what to do in between.

In short, Mr President, be the kind of President we can be proud to tell our children we voted for.

0 Vote Do not repeat the mistakes of the last 8 years.

Mr President,
Please lead this country forward using sound logic, judgement and open worldview our country need's to succeed today. Show to the United States and the world that we should follow reason and common sense in making choices. Do not follow in the footsteps of George W Bush by making decisions based on misguided superstions based on some religious ideal. Instead let us be a thinks first then acts on behalf of the freedom of all of it's citizens.

1 Vote araequest from next president.

Well the first thing is I don't want my hard earned money being spread around against my will. The next get all relogion out op politics it has no place there it is only been proven as a belief. Leave my 401k alone I worked for it not you.If you want to borrow from it with intrest that I set then ok just call me first I'm sure we can work a deal.Leave small business small we keep things going when the big projects are slow, and no one but the ritch will be able to afford a union electrician to do home repairs.Stop spending money so frivously the governmen should be cut in half and work off a budget this will keep out taxes low.Leave our guns alone it is our only protection from government and criminals witch in my view are one in the same.Answer the questions you are asked with an answer not a statement. My body is my porperty not yours you should never be able to tell me what to put in it or do with it.Bills should never be sent as a package they should be voted on seperatly by the citizens not the gonernment I am sure people given this chance would vote 2 to 3 times a month(for the people by the PEOPLE) not the government. Freedom is what we fought for and it sounde like we are fighting for it again the only problem is we are fighting our own government this time.Well-fair should only be given to the people who realy need it and there should be a 4 month time limit on it then you should have to prove you can't work, run kind of like insurance. These are a few ideas I have not hard ones to follow just much less government in our lives. Most of us don't need the government we were raised right and are able to work hard and that is what keeps a FREE country going.I realy who ever reads this takes it to hart and dosen't investigate me like you did Joe the plumber. All he did was ask a question in a FREE country. Thanks for your time. Tom Burns.

0 Vote saving the economy

Dear Mr. President I just have one idea to help save the economy and it just might be the easiest way of all. With the increase of illegal alliens entering the United States and sending their money money back to other countries why not make it illegal to make public money transfers to out side of our borders and also make it illegal to to put cash inside the USPS and have detectors to scan the mail. I say this because I am sick of seeing our dollar drop, because it is easier to fall than to climb.
Thank you for your time.

0 Vote A Letter to the new President

Mr. President
I would hope that you are the President of ALL the people rather than a select few. I would also hope that you select people with integrity and knowledge to give you good and wise council. In the end though I would hope that you would seek the help of the rank and file people that elected you rather than your party. In the end be the President OF the people.
I agree that this sounds simplistic, but it never hurts to hope.

0 Vote Unity

In the months leading up to the general election, the media has highly publicized, and in some instances, exacerbated, the growing tension and divide along racial, political, and socioeconomic lines in our nation. As president, it is my hope and my prayer, for you, for our country, for our future, and specifically for our son, that you will immediately, sincerely, thoughtfully, and prayerfully face these tensions head-on, with an unquestionable morality, an untiring determination, and an obvious selflessness. Our country needs it.

Psalm 2: (New Living Translation)

10 Now then, you kings, act wisely!
Be warned, you rulers of the earth!
11 Serve the Lord with reverent fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Submit to God’s royal son,[e] or he will become angry,
and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities—
for his anger flares up in an instant.
But what joy for all who take refuge in him!

0 Vote Pray, Pray, Pray

Dear Sir: Now that you are President of these United States, I urge you to do 2 things. FIRST and foremost, please start your Presidency on your knees before Almighty God asking for His favor and guidance to lead this nation in a righteous and unashamed reliance on Him. America needs God's blessings, and America needs a godly leader.

SECONDLY, please, please do everything within your power and authority to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all adversaries, foreign and domestic", putting this most important priority only second to putting your desire for God's help and blessings.

If you will acknowledge Him at every opportunity, and promote constitutional governance, America will have what she needs in leadership. I will pray that you will heed my urgings to you. I will Pray for you. Remember: Psalms 9:17.

7. How much do you expect your cuts will save?
