Dear President:

There is a photo on our den wall of our family. My husband, myself, our children, and our grandchildren. Every day I say a prayer for all of them. They are my world.

I ask that you do all you can to protect my family and all the families of this great nation. I ask that you keep your faith in God and lead this nation through the power only faith can provide. You will have struggles, no doubt, but with the power of faith in God, you will success.

Don't let the minority take away family values, love of God, and moral responsibility. Be an example of what our forefathers wanted all of us to be: people of faith.

Dear Mr. President:
My prayer would be that you turn to God's Wisdom, not man's. Would that you would impart to Congress that once election is gained, then all would work together for the good of the country, not each individual district, and not spending time and money to be re-elected. Our elected officials seem more intent on what's good for them, not uniting us as one nation under God. So I would ask for unity, pride in God's nation as it was founded. Thankfulness for our bountiful gifts, and a reminder of how much we have been able to help around the world. It is important to lift us positively, not beat us with our mistakes. We still are the best hope for freedom in the world and we need not apologize for it.

Dear Mr. President:
My prayer would be that you turn to God's Wisdom, not man's. Elected officials need to be reminded they are servants of the people, not the other way around. Remind people of thankfulness for our bountiful gifts, and a reminder of how much we have been able to help around the world. It is important to lift us positively, not beat us with our mistakes. We still are the best hope for freedom in the world and we need not apologize for it. God has blessed us mightily and please remind this nation of it. We need to always be looking forward, yet know history so that we can learn from it. Don't be afraid to stand for what is right and good. Remember you are God's servant first, the nation's second.

2 Vote Boldness

Dear President Elect of 2008,

I do not envy you in the job you have just been elected to do. In fact, I would think that the overwhelming majority of citizens in the USA would not understand the pressures from all sides that you face daily–7 days weekly. None of us who is honest with himself knows how to advise you in specific policy and governing decisions. It is with that backdrop that I would like to encourage you with the following:

Some decisions you will be required to make are going to be over your head. They would be over the anyone's head. But, they are not overwhelming for the Lord God Jehovah, whom you have expressed to know thru Jesus Christ. Seek His peace in that decision just as you do for easier ones.

Some decisions are going to force complicated outcomes. But, they are not complicated for our Lord God Jehovah. Be led by His peace in that decision just as you would for easier ones.

Some decisions are going to seem so easy that you will be tempted not to seek the Lord's peace, but to decide quickly, for there are pages more just like them. But, they are not so easy to our Lord God Jehovah that he would prefer you not bother Him. Be led by His peace in those little, easy decisions just as you would for harder ones.

We, the Church, are praying with you.

7 Vote Act Like We Have One Party

Dear Mr. President,
I frequently talk with my colleagues and friends about what we want from our elected officials. Aside from the obvious traits of character and honesty and integrity, there is something we all, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and Independents alike, want from you. We want you to do everything in your power to ACT like there is only one party…the American Party…when you consider legislation and make decisions.

We are all so tired of politicians that disrespect their colleagues across the aisle. We are fed up with party agendas that are designed as much to hurt your opponents, as they are to serve the people…ALL the people. Please try to act as though there was no benefit to be gained by one-upping those of another political persuasion. Try to act like you want to serve the best interests of all Americans, not just those that wear your favored shade of red or blue. Try wearing Red, White and Blue for a change. Try talking to ALL of your colleagues in search of solutions for the non-partisan problems we are all seeking. Try forgetting about your need to be re-elected. Try SERVING the people you begged for support from…instead of serving your party's platform and agenda.

If you can succeed at these politically unpopular, but essential tasks, you WILL be re-elected, by a landslide. This is what we need most from you.

Serve wisely, tell the truth, and abandon your political biases.

May God bless you as you conduct your challenging and difficult work.

Dear Mr. President,

I would like to remind you to always remember who you are, your principles, and where you come from. You have been blessed with this new job and I hope and pray that you use it for the best for our nation! You carry a huge responsibility not only for your family but for everyone in this nation. Please think before you speak and make sure that your actions have been carefully considered from both sides. Always think of everyone that you are representing from the little newborn baby to the elderly couple. I pray that you will succeed and lead us to a better future that my children's children will be able to live peacefully in.

Dear Mr. President,

We haven't elected you yet. We're kinda waiting to see who you pick to be Vice President. Who you choose will tell us a lot about you, since it's really the first big decision we'll watch you make before we punch our chad. Maybe you've had trouble with pastors in your past, maybe not, but there's this one in Atlanta that sure is a great leader and continually inspires me. I'm just saying…..

We in this country expect quite a bit from our commander and chief. Expectations are very high for you, and remember that no matter how you react on any given subject, someone will disagree.(probably me). Try to keep optimisim at it's highest while realisticly keeping your goals within sight and just out of reach.

Dear Mr. President,

The Bible teaches us that God has appointed you as president. This has nothing to do with your personal faith, though I hope it is strong; but rather is because of your office. God ordains government to wield the sword to keep order and do justice. In biblical terms as well as in the long view of history, the way in which you can do both of those things together will determine the success of your presidency.

America’s founders labeled this new nation an experiment in “ordered liberty.” The order to be achieved is what St. Augustine called the Tranquilitis Ordinus, peace coming from order, but order can never transgress liberty or justice.

Having served one president, (not very well—I ended up in prison) and having been friends of several others, I can tell you that the best way to start your day as president is to read a good devotional and scripture. Preserving order means preserving the moral order, as well as the just order of society. But you will find no better source for understanding moral truth than God’s revealed word.

The second thing you should do each day is recite the opening words of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution is our covenant; the Declaration is our identity. Always remember these words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” When you do this, remember that the pursuit of Happiness, to the founders, did not mean the kind of hedonism that people seek in today’s narcissistic culture. It meant the pursuit of virtue. Free governing republics can only remain free if the people are virtuous themselves and able to govern their own appetites.

Finally, I know, having spent four years in the White House, that you will confront a series of unexpected crises. When these occur, there is no substitute for quiet prayer, trust in God, and then heeding His words, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

May you have wisdom like God gave Solomon to be able to judge between right and wrong and bring justice to a disordered world.

89 Vote Who Will Be Your Authority?

Dear Mr. President;

Will the Bible, God's Word, be your authority? Hebrew 4:12 says : For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Although you find yourself as President and being given the greatest power and authority in making decisions for the United States of America, I pray you choose God's Word as your final authority. You will be faced with circumstances which will be beyond your control. The ability to face these problems will overwhelm you at times. Take heart, do not fear, you will "not" conquer it on your own. God is there to guide you. His Words will bring power to your heart and mind, and HE will give you the courage to follow through each hurdle you face and each task your are given. There will be valleys, pits and peaks and mountain tops. Face each one with a strong will, courage, confidence and humility.

Govern boldly in the wisdom only God will give you. Seek His counsel daily and heed the counsel of the people God has placed in your life as we move America forward. Don't hesitate to take the chances God presents to you. If he directs you to go off road, take the chances, forget the polls, don't dangle waiting for adulation from the press. Summon God every minute to be the ultimate Authority in your life. Plunge in and be vigorous in accepting daily challenges.

Acknowledge the Creator and do not hesitate to follow HIM on the journey He lays before you. Allow God to elevate the office you hold. This journey ahead of you, has already been prepared. Fear is not a factor, reject it and allow faith to take it's place. Don't try to escape God, you may find that you will question yourself, but never question His Authority, or the authority He has Placed in your hands. The steps you will take each day, have already been walked for you. The journey will seem daunting at times, but remember God is in that journey with you. You will never be alone. The Apostle Paul said “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” And once you realize that there is something greater than you out there, then you have to decide, “Do I acknowledge HIM and do I follow HIM?” I pray you will surrender yourself to God, and be humble enough to know that you will need to submit to the Authority of your Heavenly Father. Do not be afraid to admit your weaknesses before HIM, and always be willing to give God the credit in everything.

James Madison wrote in 1975 ~ A Memorial and Remonstrance:

"It is the duty of every man to render to the Creator such homage, and such only, as he believes to be acceptable to him. This duty is precedent both in order of time and degree of obligation, to the claims of Civil Society. Before any man can be considered as a member of Civil Society, he must be considered as a subject of the Governor of the Universe."

1 Vote Serving our Nation

Dear Mr. President,

America is so divided that there is a real need for a leader with a vision who can unite our nation so that we become a nation the world can look up to.

In order to unite us however, I don't believe that we need to compromise the core principles that made America great: the love of freedom, the ability to pursue the American Dream, faith in one God, and the courage to confront evil wherever it occurs. Certainly, our national security is more important than our being a police force for other nations; and border security is not only vital to our national security, but to our ability to provide jobs for our citizens.

We need another Ronald Reagan: Someone who can inspire hope, and someone with the courage to do the right thing as far as America is concerned. We need a leader who doesn't ask for global respect, but who demands it by setting the bar high for the office of the President. We need a leader who will communicate better with the public as to why he decided to do something one way rather than another. We need a leader who will stand up to Congress and demand their highest dedication to serving the people that put them in office. And we need a leader who will appoint judges based not on party values, but on our ability to govern ourselves without submitting to any foreign court of law.

We need a leader with vision, not someone who's been part of the reason for our failures. You must be able to identify a staff that is loyal to the nation before loyalty to the office, a staff that believes as you do, that America and the world deserves the best possible leadership our nation can offer. The next four years will decide your legacy. Will it be a legacy of ineffectiveness and isolationism, or a legacy of hope, strength, and faith in a God-given purpose for our nation.

Will you be that leader? I pray that you will. And I ask God to bless you and give you uncommon wisdom and courage as you fulfill your duties and lead our nation.

Dear Future President,
All I really want is someone to LEAD us with a common goal to become greater people, resulting in a greater nation. We have slipped from that pedestal in recent years. We have become too self-interested and too self-indulgent to realize that. We need someone to help us form a vision for the future that we can all buy into and support in some fashion in our daily lives. Help us become more giving and less narrow-minded.
It shouldn't require a disaster for people to care or think about the plight of others, but in recent years, that's the only thing that seems to get our attention. You have the opportunity to help us be greater than that. Get in there and create something that we can all be proud of supporting. Thanks and good luck!
