Dear Mr. President,
Although our government continues to try and take it out of the Public School Curriculum, our Country, America, was discovered in search of religious freedom and founded on the idea of Faith.
"One Nation Under God."
Personally, I admired George Bush and his values. Although he wasn't liked by the majority of the Nation, he always acted on what he thought was best, and his Religious views were always part of his decisions. As a President it isn't about being like. That is of course how you get elected, but the decisions that are made for our country need to be what is right and more importantly, wise.
It seems that Christianity is the one religion not tolerated by our Government. We continue to try and show our acceptance of Religions that we are unfamiliar with, but Christianity is constantly pushed away even though Religious Freedom is very much so a right of a Citizen.
I can only pray that you take the responsibility of being our Nation's President, and take it as an opportunity to bring our country back to what it was founded on. I believe that this job cannot be done without having faith that God is with you in all the decisions you make.
"Relying upon the protection and guidance of Almighty God, do ordain and establish this Constitution."
-The Georgia Constitution
Religion is very much so a part of our Government.
Thanks and Good Luck,
Brittany
Dear Mr. Incoming President,
It is my hope that you will turn our country from the present destructive path which is it on in regards to the quest for a binding Middle East Peace treaty. I find it very difficult to stomach that your predecessor would sacrifice our nation's liberty because of a one-sided Middle East peace agreement. Further, I would have never dreamed in a million years that the US would become the principal "betrayer" of Israel because of our current policies and evident pressure on Israel. Is there something happening that we don't know about? Is our government "selling out" Israel and proposing she give up her covenanted land by GOD to create a Palestinian state in order to remain a power broker on the world scene in the coming One World Government?
I believe that many of the national calamities which have come upon America coincide directly with our prodding and pushing Israel to make concessions that will endanger her national sovereignty and very existence. Please I beg you, to change course immediately. Let the European Union or Russia, anyone else in the Quartet take over in sealing their doom. Take America out of the path towards God's wrath!
These questions and concerns are certainly valid, especially in light of this Biblical passage:
I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all people's on earth
will be blessed through you.
Genesis 2-3 TNIV
Israel has a legacy as God's chosen people and the United States must remain a steadfast and staunch supporter of her in the face a great international pressure and potential harm. We have only been blessed as a great nation because of our undying loyalty and support of Israel. If this position changes, the Bible has said we will pay a great price.
Okay so why do the presidential campiagns have to be so brutal? I's a joke! You sit there telling us we need to be more peaceful and yet your tearing each other apart fighting for or votes? I would like to see one candidate actually be nice on and off camera. Why is it so hard for you and your other candidated be happy for each other? Because if you can't be this country is going majorly downhill.
President,
As citizens of the US we all know you are going to run the office and do what you want to do regardless of other opinions. Simply keep one thing in mind; THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON CHRISTIAN MORALS AND BELIEFS. Just don't mess it up!
Dear Mr. President,
Thank you so much for having the courage to pursue the office of President. Thank you for being so willing to lead our country.
One thing I would like to make sure you do is to trust that God will lead you through the many struggles you may encounter. Please trust Him for all you do.
Once again, thank you.
Sincerely,
Emily Coyle
dear next president, here is one law that I think would be reasonable. Gas stations not being able to charge more than $2.89 a gallon. I hope that I get to meet you some day. I hope I have your job too. Patrick age 8
It seems the theme for this years election is "Change", but is someone going to actually do it? For instance, now that the population has grown, representation of ever individual is tougher. It's time to change the system. Not the philosophy. Not Freedom. Not capitalism, but the way the government is run. Change the system. Be a President that is willing to jump forward. Don't do it a certain way because "that's how it has always been done". It's been done this way for over 200 years. Maybe some of our systems, EVEN BIG ONES, are out dated. Maybe more people would vote, and get involved if they felt their input wasn't so diluted. From 10 million citizens to over 300 million…you're right when you say something has to "change". Or "For the people and by the people" needs to be changed to "For the people by the elected official who will poorly represent several million constituents ideals because of personal ambition, disconnection to their voters, and pressure from lobbyists and industry." Sorry to be so negative. I love this country. Just help it run better by truly making the "changes" necessary within government SYSTEMS so that the future of our country and the ideals and philosophy it was based on will continue to thrive. But what do I know. I'm just one out of 300 million.
I understand why George W. Bush wanted to send our troops over to Iraq. I think he was doing a pretty good job, especially since a significant amount of his country was against him or disagrreeing with him only because they were't looking the at big picture. I hope you follow the aspects that Bush followed, and I especially hope you believe in God. Have wonderful day.
Dear President
I remember when I was a little girl and getting excited about the opportunities to write the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I thought of the president as a super hero. But now as I have gotten older and the inocent lenses of a child have been taken off, I see much differently. Growing up I remember a little about what was going on in the news but deep inside I knew that this country was safe.
However I dont feel that way anymore. To be honest with you I don't care about the color of your skin. I don't care about your race, age or gender. What I care about is this country and where is it going to be when my children are born. We try to teach our children right from wrong and to treat others with kindness. But how can that happen if every time I turn on the TV I see different members of our political government constantly acting like High School drama? How will I be able to do that if we keep adding laws to make everyone happy.
Do you pray President? Do you seek Gods will? If not I pray that you will. This countries problems are far to big for one person. This country was built on the foundation of God. And look at how far we have come and how far we have drifted. Dont you think its time to get back to the basics. Time to put this country back in some order. Im praying for you….are you praying for us…for this country?
Dear Mr. President,
First of all thank you for your service to our country. As you begin this term, I hope that you will take the well known words of Micah 6:8 into account. "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"
What's interesting here is that these three things work together to create one good. So you can't do justice if you aren't loving kindness and walking humbly before the Lord. Likewise, you can't love kindness if you aren't willing to do justice and walk humbly before the Lord.
Mr. President, we are a unruly, indulgent, magnificent nation. And I know you will feel pressure to honor us, please us, and woo us. But as a pretty decent thinker once said, "Leadership is a stewardship. It's temporary and you're accountable."
My prayer for you is that you humble yourself before the One who actually put you in authority and seek His will for us. There is no doubt you can do this job. God placed you here for a purpose and he has gifted you to meet that purpose.
So good luck, dream big, be fearless and passionate.
Jim
Dear Mr. President,
I have to be honest, this election season has got me pretty discouraged. It seems as though our country is headed downhill no matter what choice we make, but that may just be my pessimism coming out.
But if there was just one thing I could tell you, it would probably be that I hope you are a man of your word. One of the most disappointing things that I observe in politics is dishonesty - people acting out of self-interest instead of thinking about what is best for our country. This may seem pretty basic, but that doesn't mean it isn't important. Please, please, please, be a man who sets his mind to do something and then does it. Be a man who does not let public opinion dictate his own. If nothing else, please let your presidency be defined by integrity. You will gain more respect and more loyalty from the American people if you will be a man of your word.
No matter what you do, though, I'll be praying that God will direct your steps because He's the only one who can provide the strength you need to lead this country.
Lynne
Dear President,
As a thirteen year old girl, my view on international conflicts and politics are quite small, but my goals, dreams, and ideas aren't. To me the world is a vast place of oppurtunity. It's an oppurtunity to make peace, build strong relationships, expirience a new culture, and to make a difference. I just might be the president one day, but whatever I decide I will make a difference, so we can work together on that. May your daily challenges be comforted by faith.
Sicerely,
Ashley Biscan
Dear Mr President,
First, Thank you for putting yourself in a position to make a difference. I pray that the difference you make will be one that you feel will be the fulfillment of God's will. You have and you will continue to make a great personal sacrifice for what you believe to be the best for this country. Our founding fathers and many great men since then helped create a great country. The common belief and solid foundation for action by all those great men is a strong unyielding faith in God. It is that faith, and only that faith that gives us any hope. Hope is what we need. We are scared and worried about this world around us. We spend hours every day and night concerned about things we can do nothing about. Many of us are just waiting for someone to tell us what to do. A leader with mustard seed sized faith can lead this great nation of hopeful people to do great things now and for the future. I believe that leader is you. God loves righteousness and He will reward those who pursue it. If not in this world, certainly in heaven with Him.
May God be with you.
Dear Mr. President,
First and foremost congratulations on your win. Next, I want to say please put your trust in God to give you the wisdom to lead our country. I know that the decisions facing our country are not easy and have no simple fix, but remember the policy of separation between church and state is important. We live in a democracy not a theocracy, so EACH PERSON should be given EQUAL RIGHTS across the board no matter whether you are gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, black, white, male, or female. We are ALL God’s children and he loves us equally.
Also, it is important to help the working middle class to survive. So many families are faced with making decisions on whether they buy groceries or put gas in their car or pay their bills. Our country needs help in order to flourish in the years to come. So, Mr. President I urge you to CHANGE our country for the better for ALL people.
